Working With the Person Within Systems

Project Description

This course was developed for new human services professionals who need context and support to work effectively with clients navigating multiple service systems. The course focuses on person-centered and strengths-based approaches and supports staff to practice and develop important core skills to use in client sessions. It also addresses professional boundaries and client confidentiality.

This course was created using Articulate Rise which allowed for very rapid development. The published course is responsive, allowing learners the ease of taking the course on their phone or tablet device with no loss in functionality.

The course content includes relevant case examples that support learners to apply the information directly to their work with clients. A workbook is included with reflection and practice exercises integrated throughout the course. The exercises help the learner transfer the skills and information to work with their own clients.

How it's used

This course is part of a larger human services learning program delivered to staff in a variety of government agencies and service programs across Colorado.
